Dataplace has been refreshed with a new look, streamlined navigation, and powerful features that make it easier than ever to discover and request data, agree on data sharing and manage your data sharing activities in a single location.
“We’ve centred the refresh on the way people actually work - flexible starting points, real‑time collaboration, and a single source of truth for agreements.”
What’s new
These enhancements are paving the way for more convenient, timely, and transparent access to government data in a central location. This update marks a meaningful step forward in how users engage with Dataplace and manage data sharing agreements.
Record and centralise data sharing agreements
Keep track of all data sharing agreements across your organisation. The new agreement repository enables data sharing agreements to be recorded, individually or via the CSV bulk upload function. It provides a consolidated view of who is sharing what, with whom, and under what terms - supporting improved governance, transparency and audit readiness.
Draft agreements using Dataplace
Dataplace enables users to generate lightweight, tailored agreements using a guided structure, with templates automatically generated based on the selected agreement type and editable in platform. Agreements are created based on user inputs and activity context, reducing manual effort and supporting consistent, policy aligned language.
Flexible starting points for any journey
Not every data sharing activity begins the same way. Dataplace now supports multiple entry points:
- Start at Discovery: explore available data assets and access open data or make a request for restricted assets.
- Start with a request: submit a formal data sharing request when you know what you need.
- Start by drafting an agreement: jump straight to agreement creation when a request already exists or when parties are ready to formalise terms.
Catalogue repository
A new central metadata repository for managing an organisation’s data assets, providing a single, refactored view of all assets held. Organisation administrators control if assets are publicly available, supporting consistent governance and visibility.
Inform
Discover the benefits of the new Inform tile, enabling organisations to better understand, track, and manage data sharing activities through improved visibility and clearer insights. The monitor and report feature is focused on providing additional data and visualisation for users so that they may manage and monitor their activity.
A new look with simplified navigation
The refreshed interface features a clean landing page that brings your work front and centre - recent activities, open requests, agreements in progress, and quick links to discovery. It’s designed for speed, clarity, and confidence.
Real‑time chat
Collaborate without the email sprawl. Discuss terms, clarify requirements, and resolve issues directly within Dataplace via a real‑time chat function. Users stay aligned, decisions are documented, and progress is visible to all parties.
