About
The Australian Government Data Catalogue (the Catalogue) is a centralised, searchable catalogue of publicly available and restricted data from government agencies in Australia. The Catalogue helps users to discover available data, informing better government services, policies and programs and boosting research and innovation.
Records in the catalogue are contributed by Australian Government departments and agencies. In addition, records are collected from other public data catalogues such as data.gov.au and the Geoscience Australia product catalogue. This allows you to search across multiple catalogues simultaneously.
The Catalogue does not host actual data but includes metadata records – information describing the underlying data assets. The Catalogue is integrated into the Dataplace platform and managed by the Office of the National Data Commissioner.
Records in the Catalogue are managed directly by the custodians of the underlying data asset.
